MONICA ROZAK
LAND I SEA I CLOUDSCAPES
Monica Rozak is an oil painter of land, sea + cloudscapes. Her landscapes are inspired by the light of Cape Cod, Ma, Nova Scotia, Maine
and the woods of Western NY.

Monica paints with the hope the viewer will connect to a sense of place both in the natural world
& deep within the viewer’s own self.
Love of solitude, the ever changing sky, and the sounds of the ocean or birdsong are the muses that lead her to paint. Her inspiration comes when walking the woods and the shore with her dogs.
Monica has been an artist since childhood, when joy meant running free in the woods of her small town, in N.Y., & drawing for hours in her sketchbook.
She majored in studio art & theater at Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY., concentrating on etching and lithography. Monica exhibited at fine arts & crafts festivals and juried trade shows, where she sold her figurative fiber sculptures to galleries in the United States, England, Japan & South America.
First experiencing Cape Cod light in 1986 led Monica to study landscape painting with many accomplished New England artists, including Rick Fleury, Joseph McGurl & Christie Scheele. Monica paints in Western New York, where she spent much of her childhood; Maine, where she painted with John David Wissler on Great Cranberry Island ( through The Heliker-Lahoten Foundation ) & on Cape Cod, where she maintains
a studio in Eastham.
